NextBall is a free browser football game run by Vidilabs. This page explains, in plain words, what we store about you, why, and what choices you have.
What we store
If you create an account
Account: username, email address, a hashed password (we never see or store the plain password), avatar and country flag if you set them.
Game data: match results, MMR / rank, stats (wins, goals, assists…), season results, coins, items you bought with coins, friends and direct messages.
Security: the date and IP address of your last login, used to prevent abuse, cheating and ban evasion.
Country flag: rooms and room lobbies show the country you connect from as a small flag, worked out from your IP address on our server (the IP itself is never shown). It uses GeoLite2 data created by MaxMind, available from maxmind.com.
If you play as a guest
We only keep a temporary guest name for the session. Nothing is saved to our database.
What we do not do
We do not sell your personal data.
We do not use your email for marketing.
Cookies and local storage
Essential
Login: your session tokens are kept in your browser's local storage so you stay logged in.
Settings: controls, sound, tutorial progress and your cookie choice are stored locally in your browser.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
NextBall is funded by ads served by Google AdSense (display ads and short video ads between matches or for the optional daily coin reward). Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to show ads, limit how often you see them and measure their performance. If you accept, ads may be personalised based on your visits to this and other websites.
Choose Essential only in the cookie bar to get non-personalised ads only.
Until you make a choice, we request non-personalised ads.
Players with an ad-free account see no ads at all.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete your account and all related game data. Write to us from the email address on your account and we will answer within 30 days.
We keep account data while your account exists. Server logs are kept for a short time for security and then deleted.
